World famous dancer coming to Elite Academy of Dance

BB 10.18 danceShrewsbury – Elite Academy of Dance, 910 Boston Turnpike, will host a special event Sunday, Nov. 24, with You Tube sensation Sophia Lucia and her teacher Rachel Sebastian. This event is open to the public and will consist of a master class for three levels and a meet and greet to follow. Lucia is the current Guinness Book of World Records holder for 55 consecutive pirouettes at only age 11. Other credits include “Dancing with the Stars,” “America's got Talent,” Disney's “Shake it up,” and the “Ellen Show.” This event is open to the public, however space is limited. YMCA to host Spooktacular 5K and fun run

Westborough – The YMCA Boroughs Family Branch, 4 Valente Drive, will be holding its Spooktacular 5K Run/Walk and Children's Fun Run Saturday, Oct. 19. The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m.; cost is $30. The fun will follow at 9:30 a.m.; cost is $8. At 2 p.m., there will be a free Halloween party featuring a monster hospital, Spiderman's rock wall, crafts, and costume contest. Shrewsbury – The Gymnastics Learning Center (GLC) was recently awarded a stained glass Special Olympics plaque to celebrate its 20th anniversary sponsoring Special Olympics gymnastics programs. GLC is also celebrating its 30th anniversary of training gymnasts from toddlers to competitors, with its mission of “Building the pride inside.”?
