Westborough – The Westborough Public Library is one of nine libraries in Massachusetts and Rhode Island selected for the National Grid “Light Up Your Library” campaign. On Saturday, Nov. 9, National Grid will present a fun and interactive event at the library, 55 W. Main St., to educate the community about energy efficiency and simple ways to save energy and money.
The “Light Up Your Library Community Tour” is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will feature interactive energy-efficiency-themed activities, exciting games, prizes, and entertainment from Radio Disney. Visitors can also purchase energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs for just $1 each to benefit the Friends of the Westborough Public Library.
“We'se very excited that our library was chosen to take part in the “Light Up Your Library Community Tour,”” Library Director Maureen Ambrosino said. “Not only will visitors to the library enjoy a fun and informational experience, but our library will have a chance to win a valuable ENERGY STAR Lighting Makeover from National Grid, which will save us many thousands of dollars. Our library is an important resource and gathering place for community members of all ages and backgrounds, and we hope our community will plan to join us on Nov. 9 and will vote for “our” library online – it's a win-win!”
Starting Friday, Nov. 1, residents can vote for participating libraries to win an ENERGY STAR Lighting Makeover from National Grid valued at more than $15,000. The winning libraries will also receive a thrilling celebratory party with Radio Disney and Disney Junior Entertainment. Online voting will be open until Saturday, Nov. 30, and will take place through National Grid's Facebook page, Facebook.com/NationalGridMA.
