Marlborough Fire Dept. responds to one-alarm blaze

M fire dept 1Marlborough – The Marlborough Fire Department released this statement today:

Marlborough Firefighters battled a one alarm fire at 360 South Street, the Arrow Fence Company in the early evening hours of November 15th. The first call reporting the fire was received at the Public Safety Dispatch Center at 7:12 PM from a resident who lived across the street.

Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Tower 1, Rescue 1 and Car 2 responded on the initial alarm, The box was struck for the location, recalling off duty personnel to staff Engines 4 and 5 (the Department’s reserve engines) and Ladder 2.

During the fire, there were four other incidents that occurred.

A firewatch detail was set up, and the all-out was declared at 11:00 PM

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Marlborough Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit.
