St. John’s defeats Shrewsbury High in hoops

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury High School Colonials hosted the St. John’s High School Pioneers for a boys’ basketball non-league game on Jan. 5.  The Colonials played the Pioneers closely for the first quarter and the Colonials led 19-16 in the second quarter but the Pioneers pulled ahead to lead 27-21 at the half.

In the second half St. John’s continued to build on their lead and ultimately won 64-46.  With the win, St. John’s goes to 6-1 overall while Shrewsbury falls to 3-4 overall.
