Northborough police charge man with assault and threats against girlfriend and children

Northborough – The Northborough Police Department released this statement this evening:

On January 11, 2014 officers from this department responded to a residence regarding a reported domestic assault.  The victim spoke with an officer over the telephone and reported that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Jonathan Marquez.  Upon arrival officers located Marquez and took him into custody.  After interviewing the victim and her children it was learned that Marquez had committed numerous physical assaults and conveyed numerous threats towards the victim and her children over the course of a month’s time.  It was also determined that the suspect had recently pointed a machete/sword at the 5 yr old child.   Marquez was held pending his arraignment in Westborough District Court on January 13, 2014.

Marquez, 26, has been charged with two counts assault and battery w/ dangerous weapon; assault w/ dangerous weapon; three counts assault and battery; threatening to commit a crime; malicious destruction of property less than $250.
