Hudson – Mabel (Colomy) Murphy-Secula, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was predeceased by her two husbands, James T. Murphy in 1967 and William P. Secula in 2003.

Mabel was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Leslie and Rose (Kramer) Colomy. She attended local schools and resided in Hudson for the majority of her life. She moved to Florida in 1985, spending 18 wonderful years there until returning to Hudson in 2003.

She was employed by the Hudson Lock Co. for many years until her retirement.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles in her spare time and most of all looked forward to spending time with her children, grandchildren, and later her great grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the former Christ the King Parish in Hudson and former member of the Hudson Eagles.

She is survived by her three children, James Murphy and his wife, Sharon, of Chula Vista, Ca., William Murphy and his wife, Connie, of Westborough, and Maureen Campos and her husband, Joseph, of West Boylston. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jerome Colomy, Raymond Colomy, Hazel Woodman, Pauline Palmer, and Frances Colomy.

A funeral service and celebration of Mabel's life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 10:30 a.m., in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial services will be held privately in Forestvale Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mabel may be made to a charity of one's choice.
