Shrewsbury – Donna L. (MacIlvane) Holbrook, 73, of Shrewsbury, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 in her home. Her husband of 16 years, Ellsworth Holbrook, died in 2011.
She leaves her two children, Michelle A. Johnson of Cheshire, Conn. and Robert D. Moody and his wife, Kelly J. Moody, of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren, Matthew Moody-Lee of Quincy, Brett M. Moody and Michael E. McKay, both of Shrewsbury, Carl A. Johnson of Holden, and Ralph L. Johnson Jr. of Worcester; a brother, Donald H. MacIlvane Jr and his wife, Marilyn, of Northbridge; and one niece, Erin Strazzulla and her husband, Christopher, and their children, Bentley and Grace.
Donna was born in Worcester and raised in Shrewsbury, daughter of the late Donald and Rita (Prunier) MacIlvane. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1958 and later attended the former Salter Secretarial School in Worcester.
She started her working career as a secretary for the David Clarke Company in Worcester, and ended her career as a dining room manager for Golden Pond Assisted Living in Hopkinton.
Donna had a big heart and was loved by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family Friday, Jan. 24, from 8:30 -10:30 a.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will follow, with a funeral Mass celebrating her life at 11 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery of Shrewsbury.
