Westborough police investigate home invasion at trailer park
Westborough – Police Chief Alan Gordon released this statement this afternoon:
On 1/27/14, at approximately 10:12 PM, the Westborough Police responded to the Westborough Mobil Home Park at 165 Turnpike Rd. for an unknown disturbance. The arriving units located 4 individuals who had been tied up with plastic zip ties and had their eyes and mouths covered over with duct tape.
The 4 subjects inside were identified as the 40 year old male resident and his 23 year old girlfriend, a 25 year old male from the Bronx NY and a 36 year old female from Manhattan NY. They were not injured. Also involved was a 51 year old male neighbor who walked in on the home invasion and was involved in a fight with the two suspects who were armed with handguns. He was treated by Paramedics from the Westborough Fire Department but did not require hospitalization.
The investigation revealed that the 40 year old male resident answered a knock at his door expecting his visitors from NY. He opened the door and was assaulted by the two suspects. He and his girlfriend were then tied up. The two guests from NY arrived shortly afterwards and they were tied up also. The 51 year old neighbor had been calling the residence and after receiving no answer he went to the residence where he was assaulted. He did escape and returned to his residence. The 40 year old homeowner was able to escape and notified the father of his 23 year old girlfriend who in turn called the Police Department.
Cash and cell phones along with identification cards were stolen in the home invasion. This incident does not appear to be a random act, it appeared that this residence was targeted by the suspects. Det. Sgt. Glenn McLeod and Det. Steven Tompkins are investigating for the Police Department.
