Edna A. Straw, 96

Marlborough – Edna A. (Danz) Straw, 96, died at her home Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of Dwight B. Straw, who died in 1983.

She was born in Dunellen. N.J., the daughter of William and Minnie Danz, and moved here in 1945 from Texas.

After raising her two children, Mrs. Straw went to work in the cafeteria of the Fay School in Southborough. She worked there for 14 years retiring in 1997. She was a former member of the First Church Congregational in Marlborough and, above all else, her greatest joy was her family, especially her three grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Dwight Straw of Marlborough; one daughter, Jacqueline Straw of Marlborough; three grandchildren, Chad, Shane, and Nicole Straw; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Billie Danz.

Private funeral services will be held in the spring. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home.
