Obit John Veo Jr.Hudson – John J. “Jack” Veo Jr., 80, of Hudson, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane (Colby) Veo of Hudson.

Jack was born in Marlborough, son of the late John J. Veo Sr. and Anna (Grala) Veo. He was raised in Hudson, where he resided his whole life, and was a 1950 graduate of Hudson High School. In high school, he was a member of the football and hockey teams.

Following high school, Jack served in the U.S. Navy as a proud veteran of the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1955, he attended Bentley College and later graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Clark University. He was a 30-year Senior Executive at the Raytheon Company, and was a life member of the Hudson Elks and a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.

Jack was a great “story-teller,” and his sense of humor always brought laughter to those around him. He cherished the times he shared with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Suzanne Beaulieu and her husband Everett of Hudson, Kimberley Thomas and her husband Conrade of Minnesota, Kathleen Belair and her husband Paul of Sterling, and Daniel J. Veo and his wife Karen of Milford. He is also survived by his sister, Rita Nanartowich of Hudson; his brother, Paul Veo of Hudson; his nine loving grandchildren, Sonny Beaulieu and his wife Jackie and Nicole Beaulieu, all of Hudson, Parker and Amara Thomas of Minnesota, James and Jackie Belair of Sterling and Jack, Laraine and Francesca Veo of Milford; along with many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 20, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery of Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Wednesday, March 19, from 5 – 8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be made to the ALS Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 315 Norwood Park South, Norwood, MA 02062.
