BGCMW announces youth basketball division champions

Marlborough – The Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest recently celebrated the end of a great season for the local Youth Basketball Program, a 10-week program that has been running for more than 35 years. The generous support from the program’s League Sponsor, Marlborough Savings Bank, allowed the clubs to continue serving more than 700 boys and girls in grades K-12 from Marlborough, Hudson and the surrounding communities.

The division championship teams for the 2013-2014 season:

  • Boys, grade 3:                   Toshiba
  • Boys, grade 4:                   Microsoft – Natick
  • Girls, grades 3-4:              Marlboro Dental
  • Boys, grades 5-6:              Altico Advisors
  • Girls, grades 5-6:              Lions Club of Framingham
  • Boys, grades 7-8:              VMA Electric, Inc.
  • Girls, grades 7-9:              The Dog Wash
  • Boys, grades 9-12:            Country Glass Co. In.
  • Girls, grades 9-12:            NSTAR

“We are thankful for the continued support of our League Sponsor, Marlborough Savings Bank, the numerous team sponsors, the many volunteer coaches and our tremendous Club staff,” said Fran Hurley, president of the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest. “Their investments in and dedication to the Youth Basketball Program have allowed us to continue providing this recreational program at a very affordable fee.”
