Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury High School Athletic Boosters will be sponsoring the annual Leo M. Murray Jr. Golf Classic Friday, June 27. Murray coached the Shrewsbury High School Colonial's golf team for 14 years where he helped lead the team to numerous league and district championships, as well as the District 1 State Championship in 2009.

Murray was an active member of the Shrewsbury Athletic Boosters Committee and served as chair of the annual golf tournament. The tournament was renamed the Leo M. Murray Jr. Golf Classic in 2012 to honor the impact and contributions he made to the Shrewsbury High School community.

This year's tournament will be held at Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northborough, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee is $135.00 and includes greens fees, golf cart, BBQ dinner, contests, prizes, raffle items and more. All proceeds will be used to help support the athletic teams at Shrewsbury High School.
