Obit Mary LeBrittonShrewsbury – Mary C. (Murphy) LeBritton, 86, of Shrewsbury, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, who passed away in November 2012.

Mary was born Dec. 26, 1927 in Princeton, New Jersey, one of two daughters of Irish heritage parents, John and Sarah (Mahoney) Murphy. As a young child, Mary moved with her family to Worcester. She graduated from the former Commerce High School and, in 1951, married Joseph LeBritton, who became her devoted husband and best friend for the next 61-plus years. Together, Joe and Mary settled in Shrewsbury in 1954, where they raised their children.

Mary is survived by her four children, Joseph A. LeBritton and his wife Darla of Dripping Springs, Texas; Jane M. Choiniere and her husband David of North Hampton, New Hampshire; Diann M. DiBenedetto and her husband Pasquale of Shrewsbury; and Katherine A. Boulanger of Shrewsbury. She also leaves five grandchildren, Lauren Senecal and her husband Richard of Shrewsbury, Jennifer and Angela DiBenedetto of Shrewsbury, Melissa Lerner and her husband Benjamin of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Nicole Choiniere of North Hampton, New Hampshire; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Choiniere; and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Kathleen Murphy, predeceased her.

Mary was a devoted member of St Anne's Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest moments were raising her family and spending precious moments with them. Her children and grandchildren were her life's pride and joy. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, and watching the Boston Red Sox.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family during calling hours Tuesday, May 13, from 4 – 7 p.m., in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Her funeral will be celebrated Wednesday, May 14 from the funeral home with a procession to St Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd., Shrewsbury, where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial next to her husband Joseph will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.

Mary's children would like to thank the staff of the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and JHC Hospice for the care, comfort, and compassion they gave to Mary during her illness.
