Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Hudson – William Patrick Richards, 87, of Hudson, died Monday, May 12, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Angelina “Angie” (Cordaro) Richards of Hudson.

He was born and raised in Scranton, Penn., son of the late William H. and Catherine (Quinn) Richards. He attended local schools and graduated early from West Side High School in 1944 in order to enlist in the U.S. Navy, and proudly served as a veteran of WWII. He married Angelina Cordoro on July 15, 1950. They resided in Scranton until 1960 and spent five years in Highland, N.Y. with his family before settling in Hudson in 1965. He retired from Zayres Department Store as a senior buyer in 1991.

Bill was a devoted catholic and active member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson. He had a great passion for Saint Michael's and its school system his children proudly attended along with several of his grandchildren. His greatest loves were his wife and family. He adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was always present to support their endeavors whether it be school events or sporting events. He will be truly missed by all.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, Catherine O”Connor and her husband Jake of Holden, William Richards and his wife Peggy of Marlborough, Michael Richards and his wife Andrea of Nashua, N.H. and John Richards and his wife Julie of Hudson. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Amanda (Fish) Volk of Holden, Brendan Fish of Holden, William N. Richards of Marlborough, Nicholas and Dominic Richards of Nashua, N.H., and Siobhan and Serena Richards of Hudson, and his great-grandchildren Georgia Volk of Holden and Jameson and Macallan Fish of Holden.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 20, at 11 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Monday, May 19, from 5 – 8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue STE 6, Waltham, MA 02451-8750.
