The veterans’ champion

Westborough – There wcartoon 5.23 rsill be a familiar face missing from this year’s annual Memorial Day commemoration on Monday, May 26. For years, George A. Perry III, the town’s veterans’ agent, helped to oversee the event, which includes a parade and ceremonies at the different town memorials.  Sadly, last month, Perry, who also served as the veterans’ agent for Grafton, Northborough and Shrewsbury, passed away unexpectedly.

To honor his legacy and his outstanding work in helping local veterans in need, Perry was named posthumously as the grand marshal for this year’s parade. The day’s events will commence at the VFW Post 9013, located on Milk Street, starting at 8 a.m.
