2014 marks the 18th anniversary of the Spirit of Shrewsbury Fall Festival. It will be traditionally held on the last weekend of September, the 27th and 28th, however some events may happen on different days. Check the website at www.spiritofshrewsbury.org for a list of events. From its inception, the goal of the Spirit of Shrewsbury Fall Festival has been to provide an opportunity for our community to come together. There is no better place to do this than at the variety of events that the festival offers. They are meant to provide a display for the town's cultural and historic wealth and to celebrate all the ways local residents, organizations and businesses have been supporting each other since the town was first settled in 1727.
As you may imagine, organizing a festival of such magnitude requires a lot of time and a lot of volunteers. We are thankful for the team of dedicated volunteers through the years, from adults to high school and middle school-aged students. Unfortunately, volunteers do come and go while the festival continues to grow. The Spirit of Shrewsbury Fall Festival will not be able to continue if we do not get help from the community. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with the 2014 events. We would love to welcome anyone interested in sharing their gifts of time and talents. Many hands make less work! And the work is definitely a lot of fun! Please help us make the festival possible by participating, giving a few hours of your time while meeting many people in the community. Businesses and nonprofits are more than welcome to join the team by volunteering and/or sponsoring an event.
