Westborough woman runs to home base for fellow veterans

Westborough – Technical Sergeant Kara Vautour is preparing to run in the 2014 Red Sox's Run to Home Base event Saturday, July 19. The event is held to raise money and awareness for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) for veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. This will be the Westborough resident's first year participating.

Shrewsbury – At the beginning of the regularly scheduled June 24 meeting of the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen, Town Manager Daniel J. Morgado took the time to comment upon the difficulty in paying for what seems like an endless stream of unfunded mandates imposed upon Massachusetts towns and cities by both the state legislature and the federal government.

Diane McCurley named Women's Clubs” junior director

Marlborough – A 30-year member of the Marlborough Junior Woman's Club, Diane McCurley, was installed as the 2014-2016 junior director of the General Federation of Women's Club (GFWC) of Massachusetts, Junior Membership, at the Juniors Annual Conference held in May in Marlborough. Two Marlborough club members, Marilyn Perry and Sheila Shea, have held the position in the past.
