Shrewsbury – Kathleen Joan Kane passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at the age of 56 after a long and courageous battle against cancer.
Kathleen, fondly called KJ, is preceded in death by her mother Joan. She is survived by her father Dick Kane of Northborough, brother Rick Kane, sister-in-law Lisa, nephew, Justin, nieces Paige and Kayleigh, all from Hudson, her dog Casey, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
From a young age, KJ was a role model for others. As a cheerleader during high school, she helped lead the team through several successful competitions. During her years at the University of Pittsburgh she earned her BS degree and was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
Following her graduation she began her career at Frohock Stewart in IT, but quickly moved into sales and marketing, ultimately ending up with the Paper Store in Acton as Director of Retail Marketing.
As dedicated to her job as she was, her family and friends remained her priority. She loved life and spent countless hours enjoying concerts, movies, and outdoor activities.
Calling hours will be held Friday, July 25, from 4-7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Kathleen's funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, July 26, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
