Northborough – Marguerite B. (McMahon) Drew Stirk, 89, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University campus after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husbands, Ernest Drew who died in 1955 and Raymond Stirk who died in 1972.
Born in Groveton, N.H. and raised in Madawaska, Maine, she was the daughter of Vincent and Rose (Roy) McMahon.
She leaves behind her loving children, Patricia LeSage and husband Roy of Northborough, Kathleen Fletcher of Auburn, Gayle Drew Shivick and husband Thomas of Pittsburg, N.H., Sheila Ellsworth and husband Michael of Northborough, Barbara Stirk of Shrewsbury, and Margaret Cusella and husband Joseph of Northborough; her grandchildren, Melissa and Marc LeSage, Tara Hamond, Erin and Colleen Ellsworth, Joe, Nicole Richard and Neil Cusella; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Whitman of Connecticut; a brother, Buddy McMahon of Illinois; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Sadie.
Mrs. Stirk attended St. Rose of Lima Parish. She loved reading and spending time in Madawaska, Maine. Her family was her life.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 24, from 5-7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Marguerite's funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday, July 25, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial will be held privately.
