Marlborough – The Marlborough City Council is sending a strong message to the state's Joint Conference Committee on Economic Legislation regarding requests from telecommunications companies.? At the July 21 council meeting, Councilor-at-Large Katie Robey introduced a resolution expressing concern and asking that local control over wireless infrastructure placement, construction, or modification be retained.
The measure passed unanimously and will be sent to all members of the Committee including State Sen. Jaime Eldridge, D-Acton and State Rep. Danielle ?Gregoire, D-Marlborough.
Robie said similar resolutions have been filed by the communities of Quincy and New Bedford.
