Linda M. Mazza, 87, of Marlborough

95

Marlborough – Linda M. Mazza, 87, died peacefully Monday evening, July 28, 2014 following a short period of failing health.

She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late John and Maria (Gastaldi) Mazza, and lived there all of her life. She worked as an Executive Secretary for the United States Army at the former Natick Labs for over 30 years, retiring in 1986.

Miss Mazza found pleasure in the simple things in life. She loved to cook and bake for family and friends and could often be found making deliveries of her homemade goodies. She enjoyed dabbling in photography and watercolors, listening to classical music, and writing poetry. Her greatest joy, however, was engaging in lively conversation over a cup of tea with family and friends in her beloved home.

She is survived by one niece, Tina Betley and her husband Michael of Marlborough; three nephews, John Mazza and his late wife Cathy of Marlborough, Peter Mazza and his wife Jackie of Hudson, and Robert Mazza and his wife Bonnie of Florida; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews. She was predeceased by her older brothers, Peter Mazza and his wife Jane (Clancy), and Francis Mazza.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home are private.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Coleman House assisted living activities fund, 112 West Main St., Northborough, MA 01532.
