Boylston: Family day and 5K to benefit melanoma research

Region – Miles for Melanie, a 5K run/walk and family fun day, will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at Boylston town common on Route 70. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the race starting at 10 a.m. All of the proceeds will benefit melanoma research and education.

 

During and after the race, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be activities at Boylston Common with Worcester Dermatology performing free skin checks. There will be a live band, food, a farmers” market, and children's activities. There will be a silent auction with items such as a Rob Gronkowski signed Patriots jersey, a Wellfleet weekend Cape Cod getaway, gift certificates and various baskets.

 

Ryan Joseph Sullivan, MD, from Mass General Hospital's Melanoma Medical Oncology Department, will be the guest speaker at 11:30 a.m.
