Obit Lisa JosephHopkinton – Lisa A. (Papitto) Joseph, 45, of Hopkinton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, after a courageous nine-year battle with breast cancer. She was the devoted wife of Anthony A. Joseph, to whom she was married for 21 years.

Lisa was born in Providence, R.I., the beloved daughter of Ralph A. and Edith (Duffy) Papitto of Cranston, R.I. She was educated in the Cranston Public Schools and was a graduate of Cranston West High School. Lisa also graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and earned her Montessori Teaching Certification at the Northeast Montessori Institute.

A dedicated Early Childhood and Kindergarten Lead Teacher and Assistant Director, Lisa inspired and blessed many young children at Christian Family Montessori in Holliston, Cornerstone Christian Academy in Franklin, and Sunrise Montessori School in Franklin.

She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough, and took part in forming the Nurturing Mom's Bible Study and various prayer groups at First Congregational Church of Hopkinton. She was an inspiration to others and faithful to God throughout her illness.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her four children, whom she adored, Olivia M. Joseph, Noah A. Joseph, Luke A. Joseph, and Grace E. Joseph, all at home; her sister, Diane Santurri and her husband David of Cranston, R.I.;? her brother, Ralph G. Papitto of Attleborough; her father- and mother-in-law, Paul and Sheila Joseph of Feeding Hills; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 11, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery. Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Sunday, Aug. 10, from 2-6 p.m.
