Marlborough – The third annual “Olivia's Ride” in memory of Olivia McGowan will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, beginning and ending at Moose Lodge 1129, 67 Fitchburg St., and featuring food, a DJ, raffles, and a cash bar.
Olivia, a Berlin resident, died in 2011 at age 8 from Fryns Syndrome, a multiple congenital anomaly syndrome. To honor her memory, her parents, Rich and Sharon, have organized the ride as a fundraiser for Boston Children's Hospital.
Registration for the event will begin at 9 a.m., with kickstands up at 11 a.m. There will be no pre-registration. The cost for riders is $20; passengers, $10. The public is welcome to attend the event for a $10 entry fee. Children under 12 are free.
Donations are gratefully accepted through the website www.oliviasride.com or by mail to St. Mary's Credit Union, 439 Main St., Hudson, MA 01749. Checks should be made payable to “Olivia's Ride.”
