Region – Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts across the region are once again gearing up for their annual food drive, “Scouting for Food.” Scouts will be delivering flyers and/or door hangers throughout towns this weekend, Saturday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov. 2. The scouts will then return and collect items from residents Saturday, Nov. 8, that will then be donated to local food pantries. More information on specifics for the different towns is listed below:
Hudson – If you do not receive a door hanger, you may use any bag to donate food and mark it “Food Drive”. The items will be donated to the Hudson Food Pantry.
Marlborough – In Marlborough, if you do not receive a door hanger, call Coordinator Jim Watson at 508-662-1617. Items will be donated to the Marlborough Community Cupboard.
Northborough – Scouts will fan out to deliver the “Scouting for Food” flyer Saturday, Nov. 1. They will not be distributing bags the week prior to the pickup, rather a door hanger with a simple reminder will be left at each residence. Items will be donated to the Northborough Food Pantry.
Southborough – Donations may also be brought directly to the pantry at Pilgrim Church, 15 Common St., Nov. 8.
Westborough – All donations will be delivered to the Westborough Food Pantry.
Donated items may include food, personal care items and paper goods. The scouts ask that you please check expiration dates as pantries cannot distribute expired food items.
