Southborough: ‘Turkeys in Suburbia’ presentation at SOLF meeting

Southborough – The Southborough Open Land Foundation (SOLF) will hold its annual meeting Wednesday, May 27, at 7 p.m., at the Southborough Community House, 28 Main St. The meeting is free and open to public.

Residents who have turkeys in their yards, or have had encounters with the famous Main Street Turkeys of Southborough, will be interested in avid “birder” Alexander Dunn’s presentation on turkeys in suburbia and other changes in Massachusetts bird life. Dunn is from Mass Audubon and Trustees of Reservations and is also on the board of the Massachusetts Environmental Education Society and until recently worked at the Ecotarium in Worcester.

At the meeting, SOLF will also present the Elaine Beals Conservation Award to State Rep. Carolyn Dykema, D-Holliston. The award is presented annually to a person who has worked to help protect the environment in Southborough and the region.
