Mary S. Black, 67, of Bolton

Bolton – Mary S. (Santini) Black, 67, of Bolton, formerly of Naples, Fla. and Marlborough, died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, J. Howard Black Sr. of Bolton.

Mary was born and raised in Philadelphia, Penn., the daughter of the late Nicholas and Yolanda (Bilotti) Santini. She attended local schools in Philadelphia and was a 1965 graduate of Olney High School. She later received her Associate’s Degree from Temple University in 1967. She was currently the Executive Director of the Frances Pew Hayes Family Foundation.

Mary had many interests in her life besides the foundation and all the wonderful charities it supported. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her close friends over good food and wine. In her earlier years, her passion was playing tennis whenever her schedule allowed. Most of all, she cherished being with her family and especially with her four loving grandchildren. She will always be remembered and truly missed.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her two sons, J. Howard Black Jr. and his wife Dawn of Amesbury and Christopher George Black and his wife Jennifer of Berlin. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Noah Joseph Black, Allyson Tara Black, Jared David Black, and Alexander George Black, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Albert and Joseph Santini.

A funeral service and celebration of Mary’s life will be held Thursday, July 2, at 10 a.m., in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial will follow in West Cemetery of Bolton. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 1, from 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to RFK Children’s Action Corps, 220 Old Common Rd., Lancaster, MA 01523.
