Shrewsbury: Arts on the Green presents pianist Mackenzie Melemed

Shrewsbury – Arts on the Green will present pianist Mackenzie Melemed Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m., at First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Rd. Come hear pianist Mackenzie Melemed, one of New England’s most talented young pianists, in a stirring concert. He will feature Beethoven’s Sonata in E flat major, op.27, no. 1, Liszt’s Funerailles, Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 4 in C Minor Op. 29 and Schumann’s exuberant Carnaval.


Currently a sophomore at the Juilliard School, Melemed grew up in Worcester, playing hundreds of concerts before he had even finished high school, including performances at the White House and on television.


The concert is free, with suggested donations of $10 for adults and $5 for students and children. Arts onthe Green, a community ministry of First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury. Visit www.fccsm.org for more information.
