Obit Jean WelshNorth Grafton – Jean A. Welsh, 84, of North Grafton, died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at the Beaumont Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Attorney Richard M. Welsh Sr., celebrating 58 years of marriage.

Born in Saugus, Jean was the daughter of the late Ezra and Hazel (Downie) Snow. She attended Saugus Public Schools and was a graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1949. She lived in North Grafton for over 50 years and dedicated her life to raising her family.

She enjoyed traveling and many hobbies, including attending her children’s and grandchildren’s many athletic events. She was also a member of the Mothers of Twins Club for many years.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Cheryl Welsh of Peabody, Theresa Rickard and her husband Alex of Southborough, Attorney Kathleen Mahoney and her husband David of Sutton, Attorney Richard Welsh Jr. and his wife Denise of Shrewsbury, Mark Welsh and his wife Pamela of Oxford, Attorney Michael Welsh and his wife Joy of Sutton, Maureen Woloszczuk and her husband Greg of North Carolina, Attorney Brian Welsh and his wife Lisa of Westborough, and the late Sean Patrick Welsh. She was the loving grandmother to 21 grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Sanderson, Ryan, Brendan, Aaron and Nathan Mahoney, Meaghan (Lazak), Sean and Cara Welsh, Nicholas and Julianne Welsh, Zachary and Caitlin Welsh, Jocelyn, Elizabeth (Dew), Andrew, Alison, Ronald and Martin Woloszczuk, and Casey and Hailey Welsh. She was the sister of Dorothy Stinson, Harold Snow, and the late Waldo Snow, Ruth Snow, and Gail Cole. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews and four great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to call Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 5-8 p.m., at the Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m., at St. Philip’s Church, 12 West St., Grafton. All attending the funeral Mass are politely requested to go directly to the church. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Jean’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
