Obit Margaret ElliottNorthborough – Margaret Briggs Elliott, 84, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, David Vaughn Elliott.

She is also survived by two daughters, Ruth and her husband James Klein of Cambridge, England, and Esther and her husband Timothy Lawson of King, N.C.; two sons, David L. and his wife Lois of Lawrence and Nathan and his wife Joanna of Concord, N.C. She also leaves behind two sisters, Janice Haymon of Georgia and Phebe Mitchell of Virginia; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Margaret was born in Norfolk, Va., daughter of the late Vernon Swingle and Ruth Hovey Briggs. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a country girl until she met the love of her life, David Vaughn Elliott, at the Cincinnati Bible Seminary where they began a life serving God in numerous places.

Her entire life was invested in raising a family and ministering to children and women of all ages in New York City, Elmira, N.Y., El Salvador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, North Carolina, Belarus, and Massachusetts. The Bible lessons, stories, puppet shows, booklets, and teacher-training materials that she developed are still a blessing to people all over the world.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, at 9:30 a.m., at the Northboro Church of Christ, 456 West Main St. Burial of her cremains will be at the Howard Street Cemetery in Northborough immediately following the service.
