Obit Estelle WheelerNorth Grafton – Estelle Stephanie (Kaberry) Wheeler, of North Grafton, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 at Beaumont Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge.

Born Jan. 5, 1924 in Woonsocket, R.I, she was the daughter of the late Mychalina and Ilias Zachary, and was the youngest of five sisters. She moved to Hopedale at the age 20 when she was married to Charles L Kaberry.

She worked many years as the office coordinator for Crotty Brothers Food, at Draper Corporation in Hopedale. She was remarried in 1974 to Claude A Wheeler of Grafton, MA until his death in 2009.

Estelle loved to travel, read, play crossword puzzles and on occasion visit Foxwoods Casino. For many years, she was a parishioner at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Woonsocket, R.I. She lived independently in the Senior Housing in North Grafton until shortly before her death.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles L Kaberry; her second husband, Claude A Wheeler; her daughter, Judith M Cafarella; and her four sisters, Alga Egan, Jacqueline Vario, Ann Mackewicz, and Mary Gruczka. She is survived by her son, Charles L Kaberry Jr. and his wife Susan of Hopedale; her grandsons, Stephen Kaberry of Nantucket, Kevin Kaberry and his wife Julie of Cumberland, R.I., and Jimmy Cafarella and his wife Kim of California; and her granddaughters, Kristin (Kaberry) Miele and her husband Anthony of Medway, Julie (Cafarella) Silva and her husband Dennis of Wareham, and Stephanie Cafarella of Wareham, along with many nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wheeler will be cremated and her ashes laid to rest privately at Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Roney Funeral Home of North Grafton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Activity Department at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, 85 Beaumont Dr., Northbridge, MA 01534.
