Hudson – Gerard F. McManus Jr., 55, of Hudson, formerly of Marlborough, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, with his loving family by his side. Gerard and his family were fortunate to have the wonderful and compassionate care of Gentiva Hospice at their home.
Gerard leaves his wife of 20 years, Claudine M. (Chiasson) McManus, and their two children, Gerard F. (Gerry) McManus III and Katrina J. McManus, all of Hudson. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia F. (Rafferty) McManus of Northborough; his sister, Katie O’Neil and her husband Jack of New Jersey; his three brothers, Jay McManus and his longtime partner Susan Palardy of Marlborough, Patrick McManus and his wife Trish of Charlton, and Kevin McManus and his wife Karen of Shrewsbury; his aunt, Theresa Rafferty of Northborough; and his father-in-law, Al Chiasson, and the entire Chiasson family, along with his many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Gerard F. McManus Sr.
Gerard was born and raised in Marlborough, where he attended local schools and was a 1978 graduate of Marlborough High School. He was employed as an engineer by the Digital Equipment Corp. for many years. He enjoyed golfing and fishing in his spare-time and was an avid Boston sports fan.
He had many interests in his life, but truly cherished his family. He always looked forward to attending Gerry and Katrina’s sporting events and activities, and family gatherings were always special. His life was short, but his love and memories will live on for his family to cherish.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend a calling hour Friday, Oct. 9, from 8:30-9:30 a.m., prior to the Mass at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
