Obit Sally B. LehaneNorthborough/Attleboro Falls/Salisbury Beach – Sarah “Sally” Boscketti Lehane, of Northborough, passed away peacefully after a brief illness Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at the age of 97, with her daughters by her side. Her husband, Robert D. Lehane, passed away in 2003.

Sally leaves her devoted and loving daughters, Helena M. Lehane of New York, N.Y., Colleen M. Lehane of New York, N.Y. and Sally L. Murphy of Southborough. She also leaves her favorite son-in-law, Kevin P. Murphy, and her three grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life, Sean L. Murphy of Jersey City, N.J., Brian P. Murphy of Southborough, and Julia D. Murphy of Boston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

A daughter of the late Francis and Mary Menici Boscketti, Sally was christened Serafina Clare Boscketti. She grew up in strict Italian Roman Catholic family with her parents, aunts, sisters, and brothers. She attended the Lawrence Public School System and graduated from Regis College in 1939 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.

Sally and Rob were married in 1952, and lived in New York and Maine until they settled in Attleboro. She was a school teacher for 43 years, the last 24 at Attleboro High School, and retired when her first grandson was born. In 2004, at the age of 85, Sally moved to Salisbury Beach to fulfill her dream of living by the ocean and remained there until 2012 when she moved to Whitney Place in Northborough.

Sally was all about her family and her friends. She was a devoted Roman Catholic, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and aunt. She cherished every moment spent with family whether it was traveling to New York to be with her daughters, sitting by the beach, playing cards (45’s!), enjoying lobster bisque at Markey’s or attending holidays and family gatherings at her daughters’ and nieces’ homes. Sally lived life to the fullest and was happiest just being with family and friends.
