Marlborough – “Using DNA and Its Application to Genealogy,” a free talk with Jeff Carpenter at the Marlborough Public Library, will be held Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6-8 p.m. The talk is a basic introduction to DNA and how it can be used to enhance your research of your genealogy. Did you know your DNA can link you to a known family surname?

Jeff Carpenter is a genealogy enthusiast and a member of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists, Inc., Middlesex Chapter since 2004 and a Past State Treasurer. He became interested in DNA in 2007 when he had his own DNA tested to see what he could learn and apply to his genealogy.

Refreshments will be served. The Marlborough Public Library is located at 35 West Main St., with parking in the back on Witherbee Street. For more information, call 508-624-6900.
