Obit Laura MaynardGrafton – Laura A. (Amidon) Maynard, 55, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015 following complications from lung cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Alan Maynard; her daughter, Tiffany Maynard, and grandson Aiden Maynard and stepson Jason Maynard; her brothers, Steven and Donald Amidon; her parents, Ralph Amidon and Margaret (Armendo); her dear friend, Matthew Cornwell; and many nieces and nephews. Her young brother, Ralph Amidon Jr., and sister, Sue Avila, predeceased her.

Laura was born Oct. 9, 1960 in Worcester, though her roots were in Grafton where she lived for most of her life.

She worked at Northbridge Nursing Home for 24 years until its closing as a C.N.A. and bookkeeper.

Away from work Laura will be remembered for her warmth and generous heart. Time in the kitchen was always cherished where she would make her signature meatballs and piles of cookies especially during the holidays.

All are invited to gather with Laura’s family and friends Friday, Nov. 13, from 5-8 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m., at St. James Church, 89 Main St., South Grafton. She will then be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
