Marlborough – Richard P. “Dick” McDonough, 81, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Veronica (Perreault) McDonough, to whom he was married for 57 years.

He was born in Marlborough, the son of the late George and Mary (McGee) McDonough, and lived here all of his life.

Mr. McDonough was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Marlborough and a former member of the Marlborough Lions Club and Democratic City Committee. For many years, he served as a manager of the former Dukes of Marlborough Drum and Bugle Corp.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Pamela Nunez and her husband Glen of Marlborough and Traci Kelleher and her husband Tim of Northborough; five grandchildren, Ashley Nunez Cherry and her husband Tom, Taylor Nunez and her fiancée Michael Murray, Zachary Nunez, and Jacob and Meaghan Kelleher; his granddog, Aiden; extended family, Patricia and Joseph Martin, Lorraine Galvin, Herbert Thorpe, and Mary McDonough; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.

His funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visiting hours at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 5-8 p.m.
