Westborough – Robert Mark Granger, of Westborough, passed Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at BIDMC in Boston.

Rob was born May 2, 1953 in Putnam, Conn., to Norman (predeceased) and Edna Granger. He had one brother, Richard Granger of Niwot, Colo., and one sister, Debra Granger of Eastford, Conn. Rob was married to Cassandra L. O’Connor July 3, 1976.

Rob was president of his high school Honor Society and voted most likely to succeed.  Rob attended WPI, earning a degree in chemical engineering, cum laude and later attended Suffolk University Law School earning a J.D., summa cum laude. Upon college graduation, he worked for Chas. T. Main, a Boston consulting firm, attending law school simultaneously. He soon after started a law firm in conjunction with his wife. Finally, Rob joined the law firm of Ferriter, Scobbo, and Rodophele, eventually becoming a partner and trusted advisor.

Despite all this, his greatest achievement began in 1984 with the birth of his daughter, Gillian E. Granger, of Marlborough, and continued with the birth of his son, James O. Granger, of Westborough, in 1988. No one was a better father. Our family also welcomed our delightful daughter-in-law, Magda Granger, and his beloved little dog, Schotzi.  We were all greatly blessed to have known this extraordinary man.

In 2010, Rob was diagnosed with T cell Lymphoma, and Granger’s Changers was born at the law firm. Thus far, this charity has raised over $55,000 for research. This research gave us six extra years for which we are eternally grateful.

Services will be Friday, Dec. 11, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Luke’s, 70 West Main St., Westborough.

Flowers may be sent there or in lieu thereof, donations made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, c/o Nicholas Scobbo, Granger’s Changers, 125 High St., Fl. 26, Boston, MA 02110.

He often said he led a charmed life, and due to him, so did we all.
