Hudson – Alyce S. (Santos) Furtado, 91, of Hudson, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, at Wingate at Sudbury.

Alyce was born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Botelho) Santos. She attended local schools in New Bedford and resided in Andover before moving to Hudson in 1962.

She was employed as a secretary for 25-plus years by the Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard until her retirement. She was a member and past President of the Hudson V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Hudson Amvets, the Hudson Senior Center, Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.

Alyce was very active in her community as a volunteer. She enjoyed spending her spare time raising funds to support the many activities at the senior center and other organizations locally. She was a former Cub Scout Leader in Hudson. Most of all, she truly cherished spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Joyce Borzumato of Hudson, Lorraine Beiulieu of Bracy, Va. Deborah Barnes of Hudson, Edward Furtado of Leominster, and Michael Furtado of Chittenango, N.Y. She is also survived by her sister, Celia Casquelho of New Bedford; her 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Edward Furtado, in 2011 and her 16 siblings she loved.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Friday, Dec. 4, from 5-8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson.
