To the Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in our Bundle Up the Blackstone Valley coat drive, especially those establishments that allowed us to place collection boxes with them. I am pleased to be able to say that the coat drive was a tremendous success and that we collected almost 500 coats for children and families in need throughout the Ninth Worcester District!
The Grafton American Legion Post 92 served as a gracious host for our event [Dec. 3] and Bushel ‘N Peck as well as Pepperoni Express generously provided the food. It was great to see so many citizens and community leaders come together to help those in our communities who are less fortunate. A special thank you to Santa Claus who was a big hit with all of the children and parents who attended! This year was such an overwhelming success and we had so many people request to volunteer next year. I am so proud of this event and I know that the spirit of kindness and giving that I saw in our communities will continue year after year as I look forward to making this an annual event.
