Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Hudson – Gordon Allen, 89, a lifelong resident of Hudson, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara E. (Houghton) Allen, who died in 2002.

Gordon was born in Marlborough, son of the late Melbourne A. and Jennie (Smith) Allen. He was raised in Hudson, where he attended local schools. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy until being honorably discharged in May 1946.

Gordon worked at LaPointe’s Machine Shop for many years and later for the Hudson Broach Co. in Hudson until his retirement. He was a Life Member of the Hudson Lodge of Elk’s for 68 years.

Gordon was a proud and dedicated husband and father. He always looked forward to spending time with family, especially later with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He cherished the many summer trips to Hampton and Seabrook, N.H., where he and his family spent many days relaxing on the beach. He will truly be missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Cooper and her husband Edward of Clinton, and his son, Stephen Allen of Stoneham, and was predeceased in 2013 by his son, David Allen of Mashpee. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Machado and her husband Raul of Hampton, N.H.; his two loving grandchildren; two loving great-grandchildren; and his two nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Dec. 21, at 11:00 a.m., in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson. There are no services at the funeral home and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home.
