Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Hudson – Harry Thayer Brown, 79, of Hudson, died at home Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his beloved wife of 31 years, Joanne M. (Henderson) Brown of Hudson.

Harry was born and raised in Hudson, son of the late Edwin J. and Emeline G. (Mosman) Brown. He was a lifelong resident of Hudson and a 1954 graduate of Hudson High School. Harry was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War until being honorably discharged in 1962.

He worked in the construction industry as a member of the Local 609 Laborers Union for 46 years until retiring in 1996. He was a life member of the Hudson Elks Lodge #959.

Harry was a true outdoorsman who had a passion for fishing in his spare time. He enjoyed many trips to Ontario, as well as his trip to Sitka, Alaska in 2002. He took great pride in their home and could always be seen mowing the lawn, maintaining their swimming pool or out helping his neighbors any way he could.

Harry was a very giving man who was always willing to help a family member or friend. His memories will be cherished by all and he will be truly missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael Brown and his fiancé Debby Allaire of Nashua, N.H.; his daughters, Kimberly Vega Rivera and her husband Junior of Manchester, N.H. and Jillian Kokocinski and her husband John of Dudley; and his stepchildren, Joanne Saegesser of Franklin, Mark Clark of Illinois, Diane Chapman of Illinois, and Keith Clark of Marlborough. He is also survived by his sisters, Pat Chartrand and her husband Roland of Hudson and Judith Perry and her husband Robert of Florida; his daughter-in-law, Laura Quinlan of Clinton; his 12 loving grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edwin J. Brown, who died in 1986.

Family and friends may visit with the family Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 1-2 p.m., followed by a service and celebration of life at 2 p.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial services will be held in Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson at the convenience of the family at a later date.
