Obit Leonette MacLeanHudson – Leonette MacLean, 82, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, surrounded by her family at home.

Leonette was born Dec. 24, 1933 in Bouctouche New Brunswick, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Emma and Alyre LeBlanc. She attended school L’ecole Notra Dame in Bouctouche and later at the Lacdamie Assumption in Moncton.

She was married in 1955 to the late Michael A.J. MacLean, who predeceased her Oct. 16, 2001. They were stationed throughout Europe and Canada until moving to Hudson in 1970.

Leonette was from a family of 12 and has two living brothers, Ulric Leblanc of Bouctouche, Canada and Jervais Leblanc of Moncton, Canada, and two living sisters, Margaret LeBlanc of Moncton, Canada and Fern Leger of Toronto, Canada. She also leaves behind her dear adopted loving sister, Lena Lamore of Hudson.

She was a devoted mother to her nine children, Debbie Freitas and husband Silvino, Michael MacLean, Jimmy MacLean, Cindy Provencher and husband David, Charlene MacLean, Scott MacLean, Karen and husband Joe Lamore, and Jason MacLean. She was also predeceased by Krista Lee MacLean, who died April 9, 1982. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and leaves 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She had a lifelong passion for her Catholic faith, music, the ocean, playing cards and most of all family gatherings where she could enjoy her legacy that she would leave behind.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 25, at 9 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Saturday, Jan. 23, from 4-6 p.m., in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
