Letter to the editor: Westborough residents urged to run for library trustee

50

To the editor,

The deadline for submitting paperwork to be on the local election ballot has come and gone. While we have two incumbents running for office, there is still one vacancy to be filled for the Westborough Public Library Trustees. The board is comprised of nine trustees who each serve a three-year term. The Library Trustees are an independent town board whose duties include determining policy and ensuring that the library is adequately funded in order to provide excellent service to the Westborough community.

We would like to encourage any eligible Westborough resident who is interested in the future of our public library to consider placing his or her name on the ballot as a write-in candidate. This is an exciting time to serve as a trustee as we continue to map out our plans and goals for 21st-century service and facilities.

If you have any questions about the duties of a library trustee, contact me at [email protected]. If you have questions about the write-in process itself, contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 508-366-3020.

Patricia Fontes, vice chair
Westborough Public Library Trustees
