Grafton – The Grafton Police Alliance kicked off its 2016 Fundraising Drive Jan. 25. The drive – the alliance’s primary fundraising effort – supports continuous philanthropic efforts in the community. In past years, the alliance has awarded more than $30,000 in academic scholarships to graduating Grafton High School students as well as Grafton students attending Blackstone Regional Vocational Technical High School. Additionally, funds have supported and sponsored local youth sports teams, local families displaced by fire, the local food bank, and the Grafton Unified Chapter of the Massachusetts Special Olympics. The Grafton Police Alliance also has supported recognized national charities such as the American Red Cross and the Wounded Warrior Project. The alliance is asking the community for its continued support during this year’s fundraising and to save the date, Thursday, May 5, as the alliance takes on the AFC East Champion New England Patriots in a basketball game at the Grafton High School gym at 7 p.m.
