Marlborough – The Marlborough High School girls’ basketball team was nothing short of electric in a 61-22 victory over Assabet Valley Regional Technical School (AVRTS).
Marlborough was dominant on both offense and defense during the Feb. 10 game. The Panthers took a 37-9 lead into halftime and continued to lead for the remainder of the game, holding AVRTS to just 13 points in the second half.
Junior Jillian Petrie led the scoring for Marlborough with 19 points. Halle McCabe and Sarah Popivchak each had 10 points.
Senior Alyssa LaMarche led the scoring for AVRTS with 14 points, 12 of which came from three pointers.
