Marlborough – Youth and the general public of all ages are invited to an open house sponsored by the local Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Sunday, March 6, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Marlborough Fire Station at 215 Maple St. Hands-on activities will be available for interaction with cadets and seniors members, in addition to rocketry, drill maneuvers with an Electronic Locator Transmitter (ELT) and more.
The open house is one of the many activities planned by the CAP as members celebrate 75 years since being formed in 1941, one week before Pearl Harbor. The CAP offers experience that helps in college, jobs and military careers. Youth ages 12 to 18 can “Learn to Lead, Fly and Have Fun,” which is their mission. The CAP is the auxiliary of the United States Air Force.
