Obit Rita M DziemianShrewsbury – Rita M. (Ledoux) Dziemian, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully Friday, April 1, 2016 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92.

She was born May 28, 1923 in Worcester, a daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette Ledoux. She was raised in Worcester with her four siblings and attended the Worcester School System. She then met Leon R. Mallette and they married in Worcester. They moved to Shrewsbury in 1956 and together they raised their six children. After many wonderful years of marriage, Leon died in 1981. Later in her life, she married, Arthur Dziemian, who died in 1988.

Rita owned and operated the family business, Ledoux Beauty Salon in Worcester, for many years. She was a dedicated beautician who always went out of her way for her clients. As she would say, she retired at the young age of 86.

Rita’s life was centered and deep rooted in her faith and loving family. Her humility was exemplary throughout her life. She was a longtime member of Saint Joseph’s Parish in Worcester and was an active parishioner that kept that parish open during the 1990s. She also was a member of Saint Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury.

She loved life; she enjoyed square dancing with her husband Leon, and then was blessed again with the company of Arthur in her life. She knitted prayer squares for so many people she lost count, and she would be always at her happiest when she was cooking for her large family.

Rita leaves her children, Leon Mallette and his wife Donna, Denise A. Lopriore and her husband Richard of Hull, Marguerite Allen and her husband Richard, John Mallette and his wife Doreen of Saugus, and Anne Marie Archambault and her husband Francis of Shrewsbury; a brother, Joseph Ledoux and his wife Claire of Spencer; a sister, Therese O’Loughlin of Shrewsbury; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Mallette of Shrewsbury; and a dear family friend, Patricia Lajoie. She was predeceased by a son, Peter Mallette, and two sisters, Gertrude Osuch and Cecile Ledoux.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rita’s family Tuesday, April 5, from 9-10:15 a.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury, before leaving in procession to St. Joseph’s Church – Holy Family Parish, 35 Hamilton St., Worcester, where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester.
