Hudson – Gilda Louise (Crivello) Powell, 84, of Hudson, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of the late Rex Powell Sr., who died in 2011.
Gilda was born and raised in Cambridge, daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia (Furtado) Crivello. She has resided in Hudson since 1961, and took great pride in the care of her home and raising her five children along with her husband Rex.
She enjoyed attending bingo events in her spare time and also enjoyed playing the lottery. Most of all, she cherished her role as a loving wife, devoted mother and later as a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She was truly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Linda Stanley of Hudson, Rex Powell Jr. and his wife Clementine of Clinton, Leslie Sadasivan and her husband Dr. Peter Sadasivan of Bradenton, Fla., and Gail Vuona of Marlborough, and was predeceased by her son, Claude Powell, in 1978. She also leaves her loving seven grandchildren and eight adoring great-grandchildren, and was predeceased by her two grandchildren, Gilly Powell and Robbie Kirkland.
Gilda’s funeral service and celebration of her life was held April 10 in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson, with burial Forestvale Cemetery.
