Hudson – Florence “Gail” (Mahoney) Forte, 78, of Hudson, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at UMass Memorial in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Nicholas Forte, who died in 2006.
Gail was born in Malden, daughter of the late William and Florence (Morris) Mahoney. She was raised in Somerville and was employed at the former Mars Department Store in Hudson for many years.
Gail was an avid reader and enjoyed watching her favorite television shows. She was proud of her family and cherished having her home as the “hub” of the family. She was a member of St Michael’s Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her daughters, Stacy Gilbar and her husband Dan of Hudson, Darlene Siewierski and her husband David of Stow, and Karen Lapierre and her husband Peter of Hubbardston; seven loving grandchildren, Kerry Gilbar Ford, Jeffrey Gilbar, Heather Siewierski, D.J. Siewierski, Courthey Pollard, Justine Votruba; Joshua Lapierre; her seven great-grandchildren Jacob, Emma, Jason, Nickolus, Mason, Carter and Kendyll; and her sister, Dianne Faircloth of Florida, and was predeceased by her brother, William Mahoney Jr. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may attend calling hours Tuesday, April 19, from 9-10:45 a.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson (www.tighehamilton.com), followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
