Grafton – The Westborough High School Rangers boys’ lacrosse team defeated the Grafton High School Indians in a game played April 30 in Grafton.
Grafton scored first with Cole Fontana scoring in the first quarter and then Hunter Fraser scoring in the second. Halfway through the second quarter Westborough’s Trevor McNamara was able to score and then did so again at the beginning of the third quarter, tying the game, 2-2. The Rangers Jon Rodenbush and Charlie Katz both then scored to give the Rangers the lead.
In the fourth quarter Westborough added to their lead after Katz scored again. With less than eight minutes left on the clock, Matthew O’Brien and Fontana both scored in rapid succession. The Rangers were working hard to hold their one point lead when Anthony D’Angelo scored to tie the game, 5-5. With just over one minute to play, Westborough’s Luke McGrath scored to pull his team ahead 6-5.
